Your goal is to get rid of your anger. Only coping with it is a bad idea.

Coping with anger means that it is still a part of you. It is likely that you often think about the things that annoy you and do not act out, but you are still able to do better. There is still a lingering problem because the anger is still a part of you.

The only time you should hold in your mind the thoughts of anger is when the people causing it have been forgiven. Once you have forgiven them you will think good thoughts about the people and these thoughts are okay.

Coping with anger is not good for you health.

It is a somewhat regular thing that people suffer strokes on the same day that they had become angry. And this danger is there for everybody who has anger inside them.

Not only are having strokes a concern, but there are also the problems of high blood pressure and heart disease that can take place as a direct result of trying to cope rather than getting rid of anger.

Coping with anger is bad for your life.

Count the good decisions that you have made when you were angry. I am sure that you made more bad ones than good ones at this time. The facts are that people do not make good decisions when we are angry.

So when you go around constantly with anger inside you, even if you are coping with it, it can still cloud your judgment and lead you into bad decision making.

What gets your attention?

Notice your preferences. Do you prefer to be around people that are angry? If this is the case, you are probably just coping with your anger. The movies you watch, do they depict angry people getting even, or are they loaded with violence? If your answers are yes, it is a good indication that you can use some assistance with getting rid of your anger.

What you need to do.

If you are just managing to cope with your anger, there are hosts of anger management techniques that can be used to release it properly. The list is too long to get into right now.

However, you need to learn to relax. You can start on this right away, but know that this is an important part of releasing anger. When you have anger inside, you will be tense and anxious. Once you are able to recognize these things, you will be able to get rid of them. As you relax more and more, your anger levels will also go down.

Secondly, if you know that you are only coping with anger, get yourself into a good anger management class. A good anger class will get you to the place where you are not longer just coping with anger.
