New Habits That Society Typically Try To Successfully Implement

By Michael Holmstock

When the new year strikes, many people look back at the year that was and decide to change something in their lives. By making such resolutions, they pledge to put these bad habits behind them by establishing better ones.

I can think of dozens of popular resolutions that people make. Naturally, some may be more practical than others. I'm going to share a few of the more popular ones with you. The ones I share, however, will be certain pledges that people are generally unable to fulfill.

When the new year strikes, I always come across people who say that their days with cigarettes are now in the past. I wish things were this easy, because the success rate reveals the opposite.

The sad truth is that nicotine is physically addictive, making it much harder for people to follow through with this plan than they realize.

You'll also see many people pledging to get into the best physical shape possible. This may involve cutting back on bad foods, but it more commonly involves exercising at the gym.

As a result, I always take note of the fact that the gym is more crowded than usual during the first month of the year. This can't be a coincidence.

Lastly, there's the commitment that some people make to work less and enjoy themselves more. Wouldn't we all love to do this?

Unfortunately, sometimes this is one of those things that we can't control. Whether our bosses ask us to complete new assignments that demand more of our time or we simply need to work overtime in order to make ends meet, this is one that few have the luxury of enjoying complete control over.

While all of these things should be doable at some point, a lot of it all depends on timing. It's hard to force our will upon ourselves simply because of the time of year. We can accomplish these things at any point in time, and we should never be afraid to make them happen. - 31521
