The Benefits of Running

By Jason Winter

I'm a huge advocate of running. I know that it takes some effort and energy to make it happen, and I'm usually the first person to prefer just being lazy and relaxing in bed with a book or watching TV.

Still, the benefits of running are clear as day to me and there's one thing I've noticed about it all. I've never regretted running after I've finished a run.

No matter how easy or hard the run ways, my body is always uplifted once it's all done. Any resistance all stems from the brain, which is good and bad. The good news is that we can overcome this all. Unfortunately, it's still hard to do.

The benefits of running are both physical and psychological. Obviously, it keeps us all in good health. It gives us energy and burns fat, but it's also a great emotional catalyst. If you run, you'll have hormones produced that raise your spirits naturally.

They also say that it's great for you mentally too. It triggers receptors in the brain that make it easier to focus on work and other normally challenging tasks.

No one likes the idea of getting up to go for a grueling run, especially if they're tired. Still, there's a clear benefit to running every day and you should absolutely consider doing it for the reasons listed above.

One thing that I make sure to do is to have good, motivating music with me when I run. Doing this will make things more enjoyable, and I find myself paying more attention to the songs themselves than to the fact that I'm running.

It's also important to set personal goals as you run. While some people are perfectly content with maintaining the same speed, I've always found that I get the maximum benefit whenever I'm striving to achieve new fastest times. - 31521
